By the time you are a senior in high school it is important to begin thinking about college and possible getting a scholarship to help pay for it. This will cover your tuition, accommodation, study materials, books and other related costs associated with higher education.

There are many scholarships for high school seniors that are thinking about going to college. You should talk to the school guidance counselor to find out about scholarships that you are, or will be, eligible for. The counselor can also help you complete the application requirements and make sure that you are prepared for the interview if your application requires one.

It is a good idea to talk with other people that are already in college about their experiences of obtaining a scholarship. This experience is invaluable for new college students as there are often scholarships that you will not know about.

Try to take the applications as seriously as possible and complete them in full. If you know that the competition for the scholarship is high then try and make your application even more detailed to stand out from the rest. It is also a good idea to apply to every scholarship you are eligible for to stand the best chance of winning one.
